Midterm reflection: how am I doing with feedback

During class, I did take advantage of opportunities to conference with both Ms. Oliver and my peers. I often initiated these interactions to seek specific feedback on my work, as I found it helpful in understanding how to improve. The feedback I received was primarily from Ms. Oliver, but I also got valuable insights from classmates during peer review sessions.

A noticeable pattern in the feedback was the emphasis on clarity and organization. Comments about making my points more direct came up multiple times. I made efforts to use this feedback, revising my work to be clearer and better structured. As a result, I noticed an improvement in the quality of my work, particularly in terms of how well my ideas were communicated.

Additionally, I would give feedback to peers when asked, and help spot grammatical as well as structural issues in the writing. Giving feedback to others has had a positive impact on my own work. It helped me develop a more critical eye, allowing me to spot similar issues in my writing. This mutual exchange of feedback not only improved my skills but also created a more collaborative learning environment where everyone would help each other advance forward.

FINAL reflection: how am I doing with feedback

This term, I made even greater use of feedback compared to last term, and it has significantly impacted my work. I consistently sought feedback from Ms. Oliver and my peers, especially during conferences and peer reviews. The recurring focus on clarity and organization helped me improve my writing, and I made sure to apply this feedback directly to my revisions. As a result, I’ve noticed a clear improvement in the structure and clarity of my work compared to earlier in the year. I also gave more feedback to peers this term, which further sharpened my critical thinking skills. Identifying areas for improvement in others' writing helped me recognize and fix similar issues in my own work. Overall, I found the feedback process extremely helpful, and the progress I’ve made this term shows how effective it has been in elevating the quality of my writing.
