THANK you for checking out my portfolio.
Reflecting on my learning journey through this English course, I can see meaningful progress in my communication, reading, and writing skills. Through assignments like the “This I Believe” essay, group discussions on Beartown, and collaborative projects like the Minecraft setting visual, I’ve become more confident in expressing my ideas, structuring my thoughts clearly, and engaging with others’ perspectives. These experiences have taught me the importance of both sharing my viewpoints and listening actively, which has deepened my understanding of texts and enhanced my writing.
Moving forward, I want to continue building on these skills by challenging myself to participate more in whole-class discussions. I aim to be more comfortable sharing my ideas in larger groups, which I believe will help me improve my ability to communicate effectively with a wider audience. Additionally, I want to improve my ability to incorporate feedback into my work earlier in the writing process, allowing me to create more polished and impactful pieces. This term has shown me the value of collaboration and critical thinking, and I’m motivated to keep pushing myself to grow as a communicator and learner.
Term 2 Update:
This semester has been an incredible journey of growth, both academically and personally. I’ve made significant strides in all areas, writing, reading, communication, and critical thinking. Through assigned work, extra challenged I took on, and crucial conversations with my peers, I believe I have turned into a student who loves to take initiative.
I want to sincerely thank you, Ms. Oliver, for creating such a supportive and engaging learning environment. Your guidance and passion for teaching made this class a place where I could grow, take risks, and develop confidence in my abilities. I truly enjoyed the experience and will carry the lessons I’ve learned with me beyond this semester. Thank you for everything!
